Description
A hardy perennial ground cover that forms a mat of grey-green leaves with pink, purple or white flowers appearing in spring and summer. It has a strong almost bitter-peppery taste and a slightly lemony aroma. It's an essential herb in any kitchen where it's used fresh or dry to flavour tomato dishes, soups, sauces, fish, poultry and pizza! In Turkey and Southern Italy, it's often used for flavouring meat, and ground oregano is added to Greek salads.
Oregano can be grown in a garden bed, veggie patch or along rockeries. It can also be grown indoors so long as it has plenty of warmth and sunshine. It's an excellent herb for pots and the more you harvest it the thicker it will grow.
Contains average 1000 seeds.
