Description
"RSL Spirit of Anzac", a cultivar of the Grevillea banksii 'red prostrate' x 'Tirari Blaze', blooms year-round with deep wine-red flowers, subtly kissed with yellow/orange at the centre. As a gorgeous large shrub, it's a beacon for native birds, providing continuous colour and activity for your garden. The plant holds special significance, having been bred by Kings Park to commemorate the ANZAC centenary, paying homage to 100 years since the Gallipoli landings by Australian and New Zealand forces.
For those planting "RSL Spirit of Anzac" in the ground, enriching sandy soils with a quality conditioner is recommended. The shrub flourishes in a mediterranean environment and becomes more resilient to drought once established. To ensure continued vibrancy, apply a low-phosphorus native fertiliser during Djilba (early spring).
