Description
The "Red Hooks" cultivar, a hybrid of Grevillea longifolia x tetragonoloba, sets itself apart with its year-round blossoming of vivid red flowers, especially prolific in Makuru (winter) and Djilba (early spring). As a large shrub, it flaunts attractive, long slender foliage, offering a feast not just for the eyes but also for native birds which find it irresistible.
Planting "Red Hooks" in the ground is ideal, and for gardens with sandy soils, a touch of soil conditioner goes a long way. This Australian native showcases remarkable drought resistance once it's fully established. To keep this Grevillea looking its finest, nourish it with a low-phosphorus native fertiliser during Djilba (early spring).
