Description
"Perennial Coriander" (Eryngium foetidum), also known as "Culantro", boasts long, serrated leaves, prized for their resemblance to and flavour akin to traditional coriander but with an added depth. This rosette-forming perennial herb is both a culinary delight and an ornamental piece, offering spiky inflorescences when it flowers during the warm season. Its aromatic leaves not only elevate various dishes but also bring an inviting scent to gardens or homes.
Optimal for in-ground planting, pots, or vege/herb gardens, "Perennial Coriander" prefers well-draining soil, and when situated in sandy terrains, a quality soil conditioner aids its flourishing. It thrives under full sunlight, although partial shade is also acceptable. For vibrant, healthy growth, fertilising in Djilba (late winter to early spring) is advised, using a balanced, all-purpose fertiliser. Harvesting can commence roughly 70 days after planting, ensuring a steady supply of this fragrant herb.
