Product Information
We do our best to ensure product descriptions, specifications, care information, and other details shown on our website are accurate and up to date. However, this information is provided as a general guide only and may occasionally vary between batches, suppliers, or individual plants.

Stock availability
Our website stock levels update live based on our inventory system, and we work hard to keep them as accurate as possible. However, stock counts can occasionally be incorrect due to in-store sales, damage, or stock discrepancies. This is especially possible when only 1 or 2 units are showing as available.

Plant images
Plant photos are provided as a guide to show what a plant may look like when mature and established. In most cases, the image shown is not of the exact individual plant for sale, as this would require constant photo updates across our range. Plants purchased may vary from the images shown in size, fullness, colour, and stage of growth.

Plant sizing
Sizes refer to the size of the pot the plant is sold in, rather than the exact size of the plant itself. For example,

  • 100 mm refers to a 10 cm diameter pot,
  • 140 mm refers to a 14 cm diameter pot,
  • 5L refers to a 5 litre pot, etc.

In general, smaller pot sizes usually indicate younger plants, though the actual size and development of the plant can vary significantly depending on the species, variety, and growth habit.

Photo sourcing and AI-generated imagery
Images used on our website are either owned by Kambarang Garden Centre, used under free-use licensing, or used with permission from the original owner. In some cases, AI-assisted imagery may be used where suitable real-world photos are difficult to obtain, in order to help demonstrate what a plant looks like. Where this is done, care is taken to ensure the image remains as true to life as reasonably possible.

Description

Botanical Name: Mentha x piperita

Peppermint

A hardy perennial with dark coloured leaves and a strong flavour. Peppermint attracts pollinators and is easy to grow. It should be left to grow in a pot if you wish to minimise spreading in your garden.

These Tea Mug Grow Kits allow gardeners to get back to basics and grow their own tea. Available in four
different varieties - Bergamot, Chamomile, Lemon Balm and Peppermint.

Each kit contains everything needed to get growing and brewing, including seeds, a biodegradable pot, soil
pellet, enamel mug, tea strainer and instructions.

The perfect, sustainable gift for tea lovers and keen gardeners alike.

How To Grow

Growing Instructions (included with kit)

  1. Remove all contents from the mug and in a small bowl add 1/2 cup of warm water to the soil pellet. Allow the soil pellet to soak in the water and expand. Continue to add water until the pellets are completely expanded & the soil appears fluffy.
  2. Once the soil has cooled down transfer most of it into the peat pot, filling the pot to approximately 1.5cm from the brim. Leave a couple of spoonfuls of soil for later use.
  3. Fluff the soil with a fork, then sprinkle your seeds evenly across the soil surface. Cover the seeds with a very fine layer (5mm) of your leftover soil.
  4. Place the peat pot on a saucer in a well-lit position but avoid direct sunlight until the seeds have germinated.
  5. Once seedlings appear apply a half strength fertiliser every two weeks.
  6. Thin out by removing smallest seedlings, leaving the strongest1-2 plants more room to grow in the pot. The thinnings can be transplanted into the garden or other pots.
  7. Once the seedlings are mature (with approximately 5 leaves) transplant them into their growing spot in the garden, pot-and-all.
  8. Once mature, use your peppermint leaves to make tea using the included strainer and mug. Place the fresh or dried leaves in the strainer and allow it to steep for a few minutes in boiling hot water. You can use the herb on its own or combine with loose tea leaves. Enjoy!
Soil Type well drained
Important Note
  • The soil should not need watering again until seeds have germinated. However if water is required, use a water spray bottle to moisten the soil. You can tell if the soil is drying out if the colour turns from dark brown to light brown.
  • The soil should be kept moist, but not too wet. If you are unsure about the correct moisture level, press the soil gently. If the soil feels moist but no water appears, the level is correct. If water appears on the surface, gently tip the pot to its side, and let any excess water run out.
