Description
The "Imperial" cultivar of Mandarin (Citrus reticulata) is a cherished Australian heirloom variety, celebrated for being an early-season bearer. Notably one of the earliest to ripen, its fruit captivates with a terrific taste, further complemented by its easy-to-peel nature. While the fruit is not seedless, the flavour more than compensates for any minor inconvenience.
Adaptable for both pots and in-ground planting, those planting in sandy soils should bolster with a quality soil conditioner. Ensuring consistent moisture from Kambarang to Djeran (spring to autumn) is paramount, especially during warmer periods. To maintain its vibrant growth and abundant harvest, a citrus-focused fertiliser during Djilba (late winter to spring) is recommended.
