chilli-twilight-rainbow
Chilli Pepper - TWILIGHT RAINBOW - Capsicum annuum

The "NuMex Twilight Rainbow" cultivar of Chilli (Capsicum sp.) dazzles gardeners with its vibrant display of fruits transitioning from a purple hue, maturing through yellow and orange, and finally ripening to a fiery red. Offering not only aesthetic allure, these chillies introduce a medium heat to dishes, typically rating between 30,000 to 50,000 SHU. While adding zest to your meals, exercise care when handling, especially if sensitive to spicy varieties.

Whether nestled in pots, vege/herb gardens or directly in the ground, the "NuMex Twilight Rainbow" cherishes full sun and appreciates consistent watering, especially during the warmth of Bunuru (summer). When planted in the ground, enhancing sandy soils with a quality soil conditioner can be beneficial for its robust growth. Fertilising in Djilba (early spring) with a balanced blend gives this chilli a head start, while timely harvesting, typically around 80-90 days post-planting, ensures a burst of colours and flavours in your garden and plate.

Botanical Name

Capsicum annuum

Common Name

Chilli Pepper

Cultivar

Twilight Rainbow

Classification

Fruiting and Edible

PBR Name

Origin

North, Central, South America

Foliage

Evergreen

Height

Chilli plants generally grow 60 cm - 1 M

Width

Chilli plants generally grow 60 cm - 1 M

Light

Full sun

Soil

Well-draining, good quality soil is important for good fruit-set.

Water Requirement

Though Chilli plants are tolerant of low water, they will fruit better with regular water in warm weather.
