Description
The "Select Form" of Adenanthos sericeus, commonly called Woolly Bush, is a standout large shrub, selected for its superior qualities. Its foliage is a highlight, offering a dense, soft texture reminiscent of wool with a captivating silver-green hue. Although the red and orange flowers are minute, they bloom from late Kambarang (late spring) to Birak (early summer), providing a subtle yet enchanting display against the plush leaves. This cultivar, with its strong and attractive characteristics, is perfect for creating an eye-catching feature in gardens.
For the best development of the "Select Form," it is essential to plant it in the ground under full sun conditions, which encourages its lush growth. In areas with poor, sandy soil, incorporating a soil conditioner will enrich the environment, ensuring the plant's vigorous health. Feeding with a low-phosphorus fertiliser is ideal during Djilba (early spring), and although the Woolly Bush generally maintains its shape, a light prune after the flowering period can promote a fuller, more structured form in the following season.
