Description

Aloidendron barberae, commonly known as Tree Aloe, is a striking, large succulent tree native to South Africa. Known for its sculptural form and impressive height, this evergreen succulent can grow up to 6 to 9 metres tall with a spread of 3 to 6 metres, making it a bold focal point in Perth landscapes. It thrives in full sun and is highly drought-tolerant once established, adapting well to Perth's dry climate. Its distinctive trunk and branching structure give it an architectural appeal, perfect for adding height and drama to gardens.

In Late Summer (Bunuru), the Tree Aloe produces clusters of tubular, pinkish-orange flowers that attract pollinators, adding a seasonal touch of colour to its green, fleshy foliage. As a low-maintenance perennial, it requires minimal watering and prefers well-draining soil. Aloidendron barberae is ideal for both residential and commercial landscapes, providing year-round greenery with minimal care.
